What a nasty morning. Rain and hot, just the combo I wanted to avoid. Oh well, back in at 1430 for round two.

what made it worse was the constantly swirling winds. Every deer that came close got our scent and left before saying hello to my little friend G5.

I know I had alot of fun. I saw a ton of deer, does and spikes, had fun at camp and going out at night with the guys, and talking hunting. Charlie, you need to get that sink fixed. There are some plumbers in the yellow pages. LOL. I especially had fun taking the pre-afternoon hunt picture.

Nice picture of you guys. Sorry we didn't get to meet up but we like to stay local and get to bed earlier when possible. Which didn't happen as early as I wanted to but nonetheless it was better then Friday night. Playing pool and foosball really cut into sleep time, hehe.
Good time was had here with some good old deer camp fun. Coyote tail wake ups, past deer camp stories, pool, foosbal, meals and the dead 6 pointer all made it for a perfect weekend.
It was nice for my wife and I to share our home with brother in law Gary and nephew Justin, best friend Billy and Joe. I started hunting with Billy and his family too many years ago. We have spent more time together hunting then either of us can remember. Gary and Justin have just started with us last year with Justin taking his first deer (a doe) ever. Best was it happened with a bow I gave him for his 8th grade graduation and it was here at my place.
As for my good friend Joe, what can I say. We been hunting together for near 20 years and have recently taken up 3D shooting together as often as possible in the season. Joe and I most recently traveled to Pa for the Rhienhart 100 shoot this past summer and had a blast. This year we are planning the R-100 in the Northeast as well as the one in Florida.

I am looking forward to next weekend when we will be joined by Justin and Gary again as well as my long time friend Andy who hunted with the Rubino's last year.
Hopefully the success will continue and we will have another deer down.

Until then keep hunting and enjoy the time you get to spend it with family and friends in our deer camps.

Nice picture! After that weekend, the fun and laughing, I feel like I could be the guy in that trailer, taking a nap!

I'm sure I won’t get much rest until the season is over. During the week I get up early for work, work long hours and go to bed late and on the weekends I get up even earlier to go hunting. It's the price we pay for what we love.
