Post MLK Hunt
Well mike and i are going out tomorrow for one last deer hunt of the season. Hopefully it wont be too bad with all the snow but from what im hearing its pretty deep out there. Going to hunt sarnoff where i hunted a few times with the bow and have seen a ton of tracks in the snow. Hopefully we will have something to post tomorrow but if not at least it will be nice to get back out into the suffolk county woods for one last hunt of the season.

Post Re: MLK Hunt
Well we went out to give it one last shot yesterday and it didn’t pan out the way we had hoped. When we got the spot, the road was plowed in and we couldn’t get passed it. We had to walk all the way down the road just to get to our spot. Our plan was to slowly walk all day but that turned out to be a bit of a challenge with about two plus feet of snow. John and I walked about 4 miles with the help of my GPS in the morning and only jumped two deer that were in thick brush. By the time I got the gun up they were gone. We walked till 12 then headed to the truck for lunch. For the afternoon they plowed down the mountain of snow so that we could pass with the truck but we still had to drive down the road through huge snow drifts. We got stuck a few times but eventually made it to the spot. We sat from 1:30 to 4:30 and didn’t see anything. When we got back to the check station every spot was filled. Out of all the hunters yesterday they only pulled in three does and one shed buck that was small. They said another guy shot a buck but he was still looking for it. All in all it was a long cold day. Now I just have a few duck hunts left in me and then I'm going to start getting some sleep on the weekends, which is something I’m really looking forward to as I have been getting up early every day since Oct 1st.
